ABOUT

Hi,

I am Anya Kaya (Kulakovskaya), PhD —
a sustainability specialist who thinks in systems and communicates in visuals.

Across academia and industry, I have spent the last six years identifying and solving problems through research, sustainable design, and collaborative project work.

Originally from Tallinn, Estonia, I now live and work in Zürich, Switzerland. My journey in sustainability began with a MSc in Climate Sciences at the University of Bern, followed by a PhD in Circular Economy at ETH Zurich. Then, I transitioned to the industry, where I led and supported various initiatives on sustainability, conducted user needs research, and co-designed a digital solution to increase environmental awareness and reduce material waste.

Beyond work, I create photography and art, drawing inspiration from human physique and nature-made objects, textures, forms, colors, and patterns. I am also a certified yoga instructor and love spending time outdoors, especially cycling and hiking.
